Katrina and Lux

Lux and beauty have been associated for years. For many years Lux has been introducing new, fresh and gorgeous faces from Demi Moore to Madhubala. This year LUX brings yet another glamorous, sensational face, Katrina Kaif. Katrina does not need an introduction as her work speaks for itself. She’s an icon that people love and follow.

Katrina was born on 16 July, 1984 in Hong Kong to a Muslim Kashmiri father, Mohammed Kaif, and a British mother, Suzzane Turquotte. She grew up in Hawaii, but was brought up in London. She started modeling at the age of 14, for a jewellery campaign. Professionally she started off as a model with photographer Atul Kasbekar, and then she received offers from LG, Cola, Fevicol, Lakme and Veet. It was the Lakme commercial that got her noticed.Katrina’s London modeling-work led her to be discovered by London-based filmmaker Kaizad Gustad, who gave her a part in his film Boom (2003). She saw success with the 2005 film Sarkar. Her next release, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), earned her the Stardust Breakthrough Performance Award.

In 2007, Kaif appeared in the hit movie Namastey London. Her hit films stride continued with Apne, Partner and Welcome. In 2008, she played a negative role for the first time in Race followed by another release Singh Is King, Kaif’s final release of the year was Yuvvraaj.

Kaif’s first release for 2009 was New York and then she appeared in Blue. At the year’s end, she appeared in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and De Dana Dan. Both films were commercial successes.

In the year 2010, she is set to appear in the multi starrer film Raajneeti that opens on 4 June 2010. She is currently filming for Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan along which is set to release on 24 December 2010.
